Brief – Interior Photography
The Huddle sports bar was newly renovated to a more modern, vibrant and youthful design with warm brick tile interiors, aqua and maroon upholstery and a new bar design and lighting setup. We were asked to capture the essence of the venue with interior photographs with special emphasis on lighting and design.
The lighting was a challenge from the beginning. The venue was a very large space with different light color temperatures and intensity. There was tungsten light, LED strips, CFL and natural light from large floor to ceiling windows. We used a mix of exposure blending, flash lighting techniques as well as post-production lighting during the editing process to capture the essence of The Huddle.
This straight-out-of-camera image clearly shows the challenges we faced with lighting because of temperature and brightness differences in different areas of the large space we had to cover. LED strips line the ceiling, CFL bulbs light the pool table, warm tungsten lights for most of the interiors and natural sunlight seeping in through the windows in the foreground.
